Once the basic framework is drawn, artists can add their own unique design.
Wooden shoes come from The Netherlands where they date back as far as 1367. Dutch wooden shoes are shaped like clogs and often are painted in bright colors and designs. Drawing a picture of a wooden shoe is not difficult, as they do not have laces or a separate sole. Therefore, drawing a wooden shoe is actually far easier than drawing a normal shoe. Once the basic shoe is drawn, it is up to the artist to add his personal flare.
Instructions
1. Research images of Dutch wooden shoes by searching the term in an online search engine. Study the images to remind yourself of what this type of shoe looks like. Choose one simple image after which to model your drawing.
2. Draw the base of the shoe by drawing a single line that slopes downward from the tip of the toe, evens out briefly, curves upward where the arch of the foot will sit and finally juts downward and horizontally to create a square-shaped heal.
3. Draw the top of the shoe by drawing an upward slope from the tip of the toe and then scooping it downward to create the opening where the foot inserts.
4. Draw the back opening of the shoe by sketching a line that emerges from behind the top peak of the shoe and curves around to connect to the back heal of the shoe.
5. Shade in the back opening of the shoe, or foot hole, with your pencil so that it appears darker than the rest of the shoe. This gives the effect of depth.
6. Decorate and color the shoe as desired. Traditionally, Dutch wooden shoes are painted with bright colors such as yellow or red, but it is up to the artist to be as creative as she desires.
