The 2007 Dodge Sebring by Chrysler is equipped with speakers in the front doors and rear deck. Both sets of 6-inch-by 9-inch speakers can be replaced with after-market models. Although car audio shops specialize in replacing speakers, removing and replacing the speakers requires only hand tools and a few hours of time, should you wish to do it yourself.
Instructions
Front door speakers
1. Pry off the small triangular panel at the front edge of the door and window. Insert the tip of a panel tool behind the panel and leverage outwards.
2. Pry open small plastic screw covers in the door release trim and in the door pull cup. Remove Torx T20 screws located in both locations.
3. Pry around the sides and bottom of the door panel until it is loose. Lift the door panel off of the door.
4. Remove four Torx T20 screws holding the speaker in place. Lift out the speaker and unplug the wires connected to the back.
5. Plug the new speaker in, replace it in the door and screw it in with the Torx screws. Repeat the speaker replacement steps for the other door. Test your speakers and replace the door panels.
Rear deck speakers
6. Fold down both of the rear seats.
7. Pry out two circular retaining clips at the front edge of the rear deck panel. Bow up the rear deck in the center and pull it forward until the speakers are exposed.
8. Remove four Phillips head screws securing each of the speakers. Pull the speakers out and unplug the wires connected to the back.
9. Plug the new speakers in, place them in the deck and screw them in with the Phillips head screws. Test the speakers and replace the rear deck panel.
