Antiinflammatory Pain Relief

Inflammation, often caused by injury or a chronic condition such as arthritis or fibromyalgia, can cause severe pain and discomfort in the patients it affects. If you suffer from inflammation, consider the following remedies.

Consume the Right Oils

Many homeopathy experts believe that certain oils help reduce inflammation, while other oils promote it. Oils from cold water fish (including salmon and trout), flaxseed and green vegetables are believed to reduce inflammation and decrease pain in patients who consume them regularly. Omega-6 fatty acids, found in peanut, soybean, corn and safflower oils, as well as trans fatty acids, are believed to promote inflammation and should be avoided.

Use Aloe Vera Extract

Holistic experts believe that aloe vera, when consumed in its liquid form, may help reduce inflammation of the joints. The plant is a good source of many essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins and also contains strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Experts believe it reduces joint inflammation, repairs damaged cells and speeds the growth rate of new cells. The product is available in most health food stores.

Eat Well

Many homeopathic experts believe inflammation can be reduced by consuming certain types of food. They advise drinking one to two glasses of pineapple juice a day, as it contains an enzyme called bromelain, which has natural anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, patients should consume products high in beta-carotene (such as carrots, broccoli and spinach) and copper (found in apples and ginger).
