Troubleshoot A Dell E151fp Monitor

The Dell Corporation produces computer products ranging from laptops to printers. The Dell E151FP is a monitor made by the company that can be purchased individually or in a set with a desktop computer. This monitor will allow you to view video and still images, but as with any other type of computer hardware, you might occasionally run into trouble. If you are experiencing issues with the monitor, you can follow a few troubleshooting steps to help solve them.

Instructions

1. Check the power cable from the monitor to make sure there is no damage to it if you are seeing no video and the LED power light is off. Unplug the cable from the wall outlet and plug it back in. If the monitor still will not turn on, plug the cable into an alternative outlet. If it still does not work, either the monitor or cable may be defective.

2. Disconnect the video cable from the back of your computer and reconnect it if the power LED light is turning on but you are still not seeing video. Move the mouse or press a button on the keyboard to ensure the computer is not in sleep mode, as this will cause the screen to go blank.

3. Press the Auto button and use the + and - buttons to move to the Brightness and Contrast menu option if the screen is still dark, or if the picture appears distorted. Use the buttons to adjust the brightness and contrast until you see a picture or it returns to normal.

4. Press the Auto button and navigate to the Centering Controls option if the picture appears small or cut off. In this menu you can use the buttons on the front of the monitor to move the picture on the screen or make it bigger or smaller. When the picture is in the correct position, press the Auto button again to return to normal viewing.
