Emachines T4010 Specifications

Released in 2004, the eMachines T4010 is an Intel-based desktop PC that came with Windows XP Home edition installed. This computer is capable of running Windows 7 if upgraded to at least 1 gigabyte (GB) of memory. As of 2010, new hardware compatible with this model is still sold online, but parts will become increasingly hard to find. The T4010 makes for a good, basic desktop for browsing the Internet and doing homework.

Processor

Like most Intel-based eMachines, the T4010 uses a Celeron processor. In this case, it is the Celeron D 340, which is a single-core processor for the 478-pin socket. You can upgrade this computer only with other 478-pin desktop processors. The Celeron D 340's clock speed is 2.93 gigahertz (GHz) and the bus speed is 533 megahertz (MHz).

Memory

The T4010 comes pre-configured with 512 megabytes (MB) of Double Data Rate (DDR) PC3200 memory running at a speed of 400 MHz. Users can upgrade up to 2 GB of memory with up to 1 GB of memory in any one socket on the motherboard.

Graphics

On-board graphics are provided by Intel's Extreme Graphics 2 in the 865GV chipset package. There are 64 MB of shared DDR video memory. The monitor connection type is a VGA port. Three PCI slots are available on the motherboard for installing a video card, plus a fourth if you remove the phone modem card.

Drives

One 100 GB IDE hard drive is included in the original T4010 build. Users can replace the drive or add a second one to increase storage space. The main optical drive is a combo DVD reader and CD re-writer with a maximum CD reading speed of 48x. Some units came with a second optical drive. One 1.44 MB floppy drive was also an option for this model.

Ports

Networking ports include one phone and one phone modem jack on an expansion card plus one built-in RJ-45 Ethernet jack. There is a built-in VGA port for a monitor. Users have a choice of using either PS/2 or USB input devices and there are seven total USB ports. Some units include four IEEE 1394 ports. One serial and one parallel port provide support for outdated peripherals. There are line-in and line-out audio jacks plus a microphone and headphones jack on the front. An 8-in-1 media card reader is also included.
