The Dell Optiplex Gx1 is available in four different chassis, according to the Dell website. The small-form factor chassis Gx1 weighs 14.5 lbs. Its height is 3.6 inches, width is 12.5 inches and depth is 14.9 inches. The low-profile chassis weighs 24 lbs. Its height is 4.3 inches, width is 16.1 inches and depth is 17.2 inches. The midsize chassis weighs 28 lbs. Its height is 6.5 inches, width is 16.5 inches and depth is 17.5 inches. The mini tower chassis weighs 33 lbs. but can weigh more depending on what options are installed. Its height is 17.5 inches, width is 8.1 inches and depth is 17.2 inches.
Processor
The Dell Optiplex Gx1 can be fashioned with a Pentium II or Pentium III microprocessor. Pentium II clock speeds are 266, 333, 350, 400 or 450 MHz. Pentium III speeds are 450, 500, 550 or 600 MHz. The processor has access to 512 KB of Level 2 cache memory.
Memory
The computer's motherboard has three DIMM sockets compatible with 64-bit non-ECC memory or 72-bit ECC memory. The two types cannot be mixed. The computer supports a maximum of 768 MB of RAM.
Ports
The computer has two serial 9-pin connectors, one parallel 25-hole connector, one 15-hole video connector, one ethernet RJ45 connector, ports for PS/2-style keyboard and mouse, two USB ports, one audio-in port, one audio-out port and a microphone port.
Video
The computer comes standard with 4 MB of integrated ATI Rage Pro graphics, that is AGP 2X compatible. It can be upgradeable to 8 MB.
Power
The voltage of the computer is 90 to 135 volts at 60 Hertz and 180 to 256 volts at 50 Hertz. The DC power supply varies by chassis. The small-form factor chassis operates at 110 watts, the low-profile chassis at 145 watts, the midsize chassis at 200 watts and the mini tower chassis at 200 watts.
