Ensure Vs Boost Nutrition Drink

Ensure Vs. Boost Nutrition Drink

Nutritional drinks help provide dietary elements that may not be consumed during the day's meals. For some, nutritional drinks are used as a substitute for actual meals due to time constraints or old age. You may use nutritional drinks to fill in the gaps that your meals do not cover. Two of the nutritional drink options available are Boost and Ensure, both of which offer multiple products in their line.

Products

Boost and Ensure both offer multiple types of nutritional drinks. Boost sells their standard drink, Kids Essentials, Boost Plus for gaining weight, Boost High Protein and Glucose Control for diabetic consumers. Ensure offers their standard nutrition shake, Ensure Plus for weight gain or maintenance, Bone Health, Immune Health, Muscle Health and Clinical Strength for increasing overall health. All Boost and Ensure products come in eight ounce plastic containers with twist off plastic lids.

Ingredients

The standard Ensure nutritional drink primarily contains water, corn maltodextrin, sugar, corn syrup and milk protein. Other ingredients include cocoa powder to give a chocolate taste, soy oil, soy protein isolate and canola oil. The regular Boost drink has water, sugar, corn syrup solids, milk protein concentrate and vegetable oil that includes canola, sunflower and corn. The Boost nutritional drink also has a chocolate flavor due to cocoa and alkali.

Other Flavors and Directions

Aside from the standard chocolate, the Ensure drink also comes in vanilla, milk chocolate, strawberries and cream, butter pecan and coffee latte flavors. The regular Boost nutritional drink comes in chocolate and vanilla flavors. Both types of drinks should be kept in a refrigerator to stay cold.
