5 Step Diets

A five-step diet can help you lose weight and feel healthy.

Following a strict diet can be a rewarding but stressful experience for your body. Some diets are for losing weight, whereas others are for eating healthily. Either way, having a plan can make things easier. A number of five-step diet plans are available, and picking the right one depends on what you are looking to achieve.

5-Step Detox

You could start a detox diet for a variety of reasons. Regardless of the reason, you will have to finish five steps to complete it.

Drink more water. Water helps flush toxins from the body.

Soak in the tub. Take a bath in warm water with 4 cups of Epsom Salt and an additional 2 cups of baking soda. This helps reduce muscle aches.

Take vitamin supplements. At the minimum, take a multivitamin every day.

Consume five fruits and vegetables a day. Fresh foods help the detoxification of the body.

Cut out whites, sugars and grains. Sugars and grains can be detrimental to the immune system, and when your system isn't working properly, you are prone to sickness.

Five Factor

The 5 Factor diet plan was created by fitness and nutrition expert Harley Pasternak. It's designed to help you get into the best shape of your life.

The five-week plan enables you to get fit in just five weeks. But many of Pasternak's clients state that after five weeks, these methods turn into a regular lifestyle.

Change your eating habits to five meals a day. By eating five 5 Factor meals a day, you will not only lose weight, but you'll stop craving other foods.

Have five-ingredient meals. Those that participate in the 5 Factor diet are given recipes that use only five ingredients and take only five minutes to cook.

Do 25-minute workouts. Exercise in short 25-minute bursts rather than visiting the gym for long hours.

Cheat once a week. According to Pasternak, a diet break can be empowering. Controlled cheating can help you reach your goals.

5 Steps to Lower Cholesterol

High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is known as bad cholesterol. This is because it can create a buildup of plaque on your artery walls. You can lower this cholesterol with five steps.

Add plant sterols to your diet. These can be found in fruits and vegetables. Each 100 g contains 50 percent of your daily intake of sterols to help reduce bad cholesterol.

Exercise. You don't need to work out for hours; a simple 30-minute run each day will significantly lower your cholesterol level.

Increase your vitamin C intake. Vitamin C can be found in oranges, strawberries and lemons, among other fruits and vegetables. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suggests a daily intake of 60 mgs.

Maintain a low-fat diet. This won't mean giving up your favorite foods but simply reading labels and choosing better foods, such as fish, pasta, nuts and seeds.

Live a healthy lifestyle. Don't smoke, and drink water instead of alcohol and caffeine.

Healthy Eating Diet Plan

The Healthy Eating Diet Plan is a simple five-step program.

Believe you can lose weight. Keep yourself in a positive manner and tell yourself you can achieve your goals.

Find motivation, set goals and reward yourself.

Eat healthy food and healthy smaller sized meals. Healthy food includes your five fruits and vegetables a day.

Plan an exercise routine. You don't need to run for hours; a little each day will help you lose weight and make you feel better. Even only 15 minutes per day will help, but the recommended amount is 30 minutes.

Use the right tools. This means discussing exercise routines with professionals, joining a diet group to keep on track and using a Nutritional Counting Device.
