Cake decorating is a popular way to celebrate any occasion. Supplies for decorating, as well as ideas and advice, can be found in many places, from craft stores to the Internet. If you are making a Princess Cinderella cake for a little girl, you will have no problem finding the right decorations to make a pretty cake she'll love. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Decisions
Before you begin to look for decorations for your Princess Cinderella cake, you should decide how you want the cake to look. You could make a sheet cake with sugar figurines or plastic figurines on it. But you could also bake your cake in a molded cake pan so it will be shaped like a portrait of Cinderella, her coach or her glass slipper. You could also make a cake with a doll in the center so that the cake is her skirt.
Another decision you should make is whether you want to shop online or at a local store. Shopping online will probably provide more items to choose from, but will need to allow time for shipping. Shopping locally gives you the advantage of being able to see the product in person.
Products
Wilton makes cake decorating products with the Disney characters. They include cake pans, icing decorations, a candle and plastic figurine cake toppers. You can buy them from Wilton online at http://www.wilton.com/store. They are also carried by many craft stores, including Michaels, A.C. Moore and Hobby Lobby. You might also find them in a local cake decorating store. The Disney store does not carry these products.
If you are not planning to use a Disney theme, but want a more generic Cinderella, there are other products available. Many department stores carry molded cake pans, so you should be able to find a castle or coach, although maybe not a princess. Cake decorations can also be purchased in department stores. Many areas have small craft or party supply stores that also carry cake decorations. You might also want to check out toy stores for small figurines to place on top of your cake.
