Dress Like A Cowgirl For Rodeos

Cowgirl outfits are easy to put together.

Cowgirl outfits are ideal for rodeos because you can wear them whether you participate in the competition or watch from the sidelines. You can dress like a cowgirl by looking through your closet; you probably already have boots, hats, flannel tops and old jeans. All you need is a little creativity. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Put on a pair of old jeans or cutoff shorts. The jeans can be in any style -- bootleg, skinny and wide-leg jeans will all work. If you want, you can even make your own shorts out of an old pair of jeans.

2. Put on a tank top. Wear one in the color of your choice and in any style, but consider the weather and the amount of dust in the air at the rodeo; dust and mud will show up on dark-colored fabrics. Stretchy cotton and tops with breathable fabric will serve you better if it is hot at the rodeo.

3. Wear a flannel or plaid button-up top that matches your tank top. The extra layer will keep you warm if it gets cold and it will protect your upper body if you are a participant in the rodeo. You can tie it around your waist or leave it unbuttoned.

4. Put on your cowboy boots. Any type of boots that extend above your ankle will work as cowboy boots. If you are wearing skinny jeans, tuck your jeans into the boots. Do not wear heels if you plan on participating in the rodeo.

5. Tie a bandana around your neck. Wear one that matches the rest of your outfit.

6. Put on your cowboy hat. Check yourself out in the mirror and make any adjustments to your outfit, as necessary. Add accessories if you wish, like a belt with a large buckle or beaded bracelets and necklaces.
