1. Find out the system that the company uses. It's important to understand where the company keeps their data. The company may use a mainframe to store their data or a server. 2. Answer common programming questions, such as "create variables" and "sort the data." Although these are simple and common programming questions, interviewers ask them because if you can't do these simple tasks, you won't be able to do the more complicated ones.
3. Bring examples of your programming work with you to the interview. When asked for your background, produce your work and let the interviewer review it and ask any questions he may have on it. Being prepared is one of the best ways to show off your skills as a programmer. Alternatively, you can send examples of your work to the interviewer in advance, so he can see what you are capable of before the interview.
