According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for radiologic technicians will grow 17 percent from 2008 to 2018. An associate's degree is a minimum requirement for those wishing to enter the field. In the Dallas, Texas area, there are several programs available for prospective radiologic technicians.
Tarrant County College
The Northeast campus of Tarrant County College (TCC) offers a two-year associate's degree in radiologic technology. The program includes rotations at local hospitals and clinics for hands-on training. TCC has selective admissions for their radiologic technology program; applicants must have a C grade point average in their general education college requirements and have completed the basic college science courses within five years of applying.

Brookhaven College
Brookhaven College's Radiologic Sciences program focuses on preparing students both academically and experientially, in the field of radiology. Upon graduation, all students are prepared to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam. Brookhaven offers a two-year associate's degree. Courses include patient care and medical imaging basics.

El Centro College
El Centro College has three on-campus labs dedicated for training in their two-year associate's radiologic science program. Class size is about 20 to 25 students and include courses such as basic health profession skills and pharmacology for health professions. Clinical training locations include Parkland Memorial Hospital and Children's Medical Hospital. Clinical locations may require students to pass a background check and drug screening.
