Birth Certificates are recorded for all new babies in Muncie.
Muncie, Indiana is located in Delaware County. Birth records are kept in the Delaware County Health Department's Vital Records Division. If you wish to obtain a copy of a birth certificate record, it must be your birth certificate or you must be able to prove a familial relationship to the person listed on the birth certificate. Legal guardians, attorneys and law enforcement officers may obtain copies of any birth certificate provided they can show proof of identification in Delaware County.
Instructions
1. Visit the Delaware County Health Department's Vital Records Division to obtain a copy of a birth certificate. Bring photo identification with you.
2. Submit a filled out copy of the Application for a Birth Record. You can ask for a copy of this form when you visit Vital Records or you can download it from the Vital Record's website and fill it out prior to your visit.
3. Pay a fee to Vital Records to obtain a copy of a birth certificate. As of 2010 the fee is $10. Cash and money order are the only accepted methods of payment.
4. Mail your application, the fee and a photocopy of your photo ID to Vital Records at:

Copies of your birth certificate will be mailed to you once your application has been received.
