Breast Cancer Ribbon Gifts

Give a breast cancer survivor a pink ribbon.

If you have a friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, you may want to get her a gift that will encourage her as she battles cancer. If your friend is a survivor, you may want to give her a gift to show your support and excitement that she is cancer-free. A pink, looped ribbon is the official symbol for breast cancer awareness. Try to incorporate this symbol into the gifts that you give.

Pink Ribbon Cake

Make a pink ribbon cake for your friend who is battling breast cancer or who has survived it. To do this, you will need to buy a cake pan that is in the shape of a looped ribbon from an online vendor. Select a cake flavor that your friend likes, and decorate it with pink icing such as strawberry or white icing that you can color with a little red food coloring.

Pink Ribbon Bandanna

Purchase a bandanna that has pink ribbon graphics on it. This is a fashionable and a useful gift because your friend can use this bandanna as a head covering if her hair falls out, which is a common side effect of the chemotherapy sometimes used to treat cancer. The bandanna is 100 percent cotton. Your friend also can wear it around her neck for breast cancer awareness events such as fundraisers, runs or walks.

Ribbon Watch

Order a wrist watch that features the pink ribbon. The official Susan G. Komen website offers a watch such as this. The watch has a white face and a miniature pink ribbon at the top of the watch face. There are not any numbers on the watch, bringing more focus to the pink ribbon. The watch has an adustable strap to fit your friend's wrist.

Pink Ribbon Boa

Many breast cancer patients and survivors dress up in pink for runs, walks and fundraisers for breast cancer research. Help your friend get into the spirit by giving her a pink feather boa. You can buy these from online vendors or from your local craft store. You can lay the boa in a gift box in the shape of the looped pink ribbon symbol.
