List Of Medicare Plans

Medicare is a type of health insurance that is offered through the government. This type of coverage is designed for people over the age of 65 or those who are disabled. There are a few different types of Medicare plans that you could choose from such as Medicare Part A, B, C and D.

Medicare Part A

Medicare Part A is the most basic type of Medicare coverage. Once you reach the age of 65, you are automatically enrolled in this section of Medicare. This section of Medicare is designed to cover you if you need hospital services. If you have to go into the hospital for any purpose, this part of Medicare will cover the majority of your expenses. If you have to go into a skilled nursing facility or a hospital for an inpatient procedure, this type of insurance will kick in and provide you with benefits.

Medicare Part B

Medicare Part B is another type of coverage that you can choose once you are eligible for Medicare. This type of Medicare provides medical insurance. If you have to go to the doctor or have some type of test done, this part of Medicare will provide you with benefits. This type of coverage generally covers 80 percent of costs.

Medicare Part C

Medicare Part C is another plan that you could choose for your coverage needs. This part of Medicare is also referred to as a Medicare Advantage or MA plan. If you opt for this type of Medicare, you will not be able to use Medicare parts A and B. This is a type of comprehensive insurance coverage that is provided by a private company under contract with Medicare. These types of plans are designed to provide everything you need in one package. These packages can include prescription drug coverage, hospital coverage, doctor visits, vision benefits and a host of other features that do not come with regular Medicare.

Medicare Part D

Medicare Part D is another optional coverage that you can choose which will provide you with prescription drug coverage. This type of plan can be purchased as a separate add-on to Medicare Parts A and B. It also can be included as part of a Medicare Advantage plan. If you buy it separately, you will be buying a Medigap plan that is offered by a private insurance company. This can help you more easily afford the medication that you need.
