Many schools in Florida offer training in diagnostic medical sonography
According to the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, there are 11 schools in Florida that offer accredited training programs in diagnostic medical sonography. These schools prepare graduates for the licensure examination directed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Central Florida Institute offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in diagnostic medical sonography (DMS) at two locations in Florida: Orlando and Palm Harbor. Students are trained in abdominal and obstetric-gynecological sonography, neurosonograhy, patient care and the analysis of ultrasound procedure results.

Broward College
Broward College offers a two-year Associate in Science degree with a major in DMS as well as a 13- to 14-month certificate option. Coursework includes abdominal and obstetric-gynecological sonography, circulatory system ultrasound, imaging, sonographic physics and small parts sonography.

Florida Hospital College of Health Science
The Florida Hospital College of Health Science offers both Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science completion programs with a major in DMS. Students of the associate program must choose one of two areas of concentration: general ultrasound, which focuses on obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal parts and superficial structures, and cardiovascular, which focuses on echocardiography and vascular technology. An advanced placement option with the bachelor's program is available for applicants who hold a certificate or degree in sonography or the radiologic sciences, such as radiography, nuclear medicine technology or radiation therapy.

The Institute of Allied Medical Professions offers both an 18-month diploma and a two-year Associate in Science degree in DMS. Keiser University
Keiser University offers an Associate of Science in sonography at two locations: Daytona Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. There are two optional majors: general diagnostic medical sonography or diagnostic vascular sonography.
