Advantages Of A Data Projector

These projectors are mounted on the ceiling to create huge displays.

Data Projectors are used around the country in lecture halls, classrooms and at concerts. There are many kinds of projectors: LCD projectors, which focus light onto LCD panels to create an image; DLP projectors, which use a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) to concentrate light from thousands of tiny mirrors; and single or three-chip systems, which place a chip between the light source and the DMD.

Portability

One advantage of data projectors is their portability. Some data projectors weight just a few pounds. A salesperson could easily take a data projector of this weight on a sales trip from one city to another, even traversing the globe. A teacher of any strength could transport a projector from one classroom to another. A custodian could move a data projector between lecture halls. The portability of these devices make them ideal instruments for those who are often on the move.

Screen Size Can Change

Another advantage to a data projector is that the display screen size can change. The farther you mount it from the wall or projector screen, the larger the image that the projector will be able to display. DLP projectors, for example, are used to light up concerts and venues. Cheaper projecters could cover a six-by-eight-foot screen in a classroom. Projectors are used to communicate information to audiences ranging from a few to a few hundred.

Supplementing a Presentation

Data projectors are great devices for supplementing a presentation with visual information. They are used to present data for teachers, lecturers, military leaders, politicians and police officers. Powerful software such as PowerPoint allows business leaders to create sophisticated presentations that are displayed in vivid colors. Data projectors can show static screens with quality graphics or video, depending on the needs of the user and the type of data projector used. For example, a sales person could give a presentation on a product to investors with accompanying images of sales data, images from the factory where the product is used and video of customers using the product.
