Paying your HBSC credit card online
Online credit card payments are convenient, once you link your bank account to your credit card's payment service. Online payments provide a fast confirmation that payment has been received and avoid late payments and mail delays. HBSC is a major credit card provider and provides an online service to send payments. Initially, setting up an account takes a few days while HBSC verifies your bank information. Once set up, you can access account details online and schedule payments.
Instructions
1. Register for an online account on the HSBC registration page. Select your credit card type (MasterCard, Visa or American Express). Type the last four digits of your Social Security number and your credit card account number (from your credit card bill) under "Enter Account Information."
2. Type your "Signature Panel Code," which is the last three digits of the number printed on the back of your credit card, by your signature line. Select the credit card expiration month and year using the drop-down menus under "Enter Your Identification." Type a username under "Create a Login ID and Password" in the field for "Login ID." Type a password containing both letters and numbers in the "Password" field. Retype your password in the "Verify Password" field.
3. Select two different security questions under "Security Questions" and type your answer to each question twice (once in the "Answer" field and again in the "Verify Answer" field). Type your email address twice under "Email Address" (once in the "Email Address" field and again in the "Verify Email Address" field). Click "Continue."
4. Click the tab for "Personal Profile." Type your mailing address and telephone number in the corresponding fields and click "Continue." Click the tab for "Payments." Select the link "Add/Update Banking Information." Type a name to identify your account such as "USA Bank Checking." Type your bank information from your check: bank name, bank account number, routing number (for checking accounts). Click the "I authorize" button for HBSC to verify your bank information (it will take several days for your bank account to be linked for online payments). Click the "Logoff" button and wait until you receive an email from your HBSC credit card confirming your bank account link has been set up for online payment.
5. Log into your HBSC online payment account (which is the same website where you initially registered; an account link is also included in the confirmation email sent by HBSC). Click the "Pay My Bill" button on your homepage containing an overview of your credit card statement. Select account for payment using the drop-down menu. Select the type of payment processing (e.g., standard, rush or recurrent payment). Enter the payment date and the amount in the respective fields. Click the "I authorize" button to process your payment and receive a confirmation page and email. Click the "Logoff" button when you are finished with your online account review and activity.
