Panasonic Pvgs59 Specifications

The PV-GS59 requires the use of SD cards to store data.

The Panasonic PV-GS59 is a discontinued Panasonic digital camcorder. It features a USB 2.0 cable to hook up to your computer and has what was state of the art technology for its time. The options for making movies could be automatic or customized with user-friendly controls for beginners.

Memory

The Panasonic PV-GS59 features no internal memory for saving movies. Saving movies requires the use of its SD card slot. It will record data to the card with either LP or SP modes, depending on your preference for quality.

Zoom

The camcorder supports 30x optical zoom which is as much zoom as the lens. It also supports up to 1000x digital zoom. Digital zoom is different from optical zoom in that it is a simulated type of zoom. The software on the camcorder crops and enlarges the section for you, mimicking how the lens functions. This type of zoom can cause pixelation in your movies and photos.

Lens

The lens on this model has a focal length of 1.9 mm to 57.0 mm. The aperture range is from 1.8 to 3.9. The focus adjustment tends to be automatic, but you can opt to change this manually in the settings.

Physical Size

With a width of 3.2 inches, a depth of 4.7 inches and a height of 2.7 inches, the camcorder is pretty small and very compact.
