Keep Children Healthy

Keep Children Healthy

It seems like once children are in grade school that they are sick 24/7. They get colds, flu, viruses and whatever else is going around. As a parent it's hard to keep them healthy, especially during cold and flu season. Here are some guidelines you can follow to reduce the occurrence of illnesses and keep your children healthy.

Instructions

1. Keep up your child up-to-date on his immunizations to minimize the risk of major illnesses and diseases. Make sure they are done on time.

2. Feed your children nutritious foods three times a day to keep his immune system healthy. Make sure the meals include all the food groups to ensure they are getting plenty of vitamins.

3. Make sure your children get plenty of sleep. Children should get at least eight to ten hours of sleep a night. Their immune system depends upon adequate sleep.

4. Limit the amount of television your children watch. Make sure they get outside and play. They need exercise and sunlight.

5. Teach your children to use toilet seat covers and wash their hands after using public restrooms.

6. Be sure your children wash their hands frequently throughout the day and before every meal.

7. Inform your children not to share foods or drinks with other children as well as grooming supplies such as hair or toothbrushes. This will prevent the transfer of germs and lice.

8. Have your children use hand sanitizer after playing with shared toys or playground equipment. The children using them previously may have been sick.
