Actually Look Gorgeous Without Makeup

Beauty doesn't have to come from inside a tube of lipstick.

You do not have to cake on makeup in order to look beautiful and feel confident about yourself. It is possible to look absolutely gorgeous and have healthy, radiant skin naturally by simply taking care of your skin. Makeup is often a hassle to put on and can add extra time to getting ready for the day. You can have healthy, clear, luminous skin and save yourself some time and money by protecting your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays and by using the right skin-care products for your skin type. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Discover your skin type. Some people have oily skin. This type of skin tends to appear shiny at times, while people with dry skin might have flaky-looking skin. There are a number of skin-care products on the market that can help you clear up both of these issues without you having to cover them up with makeup. Some products are geared toward people with dry, flaky skin and will not work on oily skin, and vice versa, so it is important to know your skin type before attempting to treat a skin condition.

2. Wash your face every day. Once you have assessed your skin type you can purchase a cleanser that is designed for your skin. Exfoliate the skin on your face two times a week. This will help clear all the dead skin cells from your face and help even out your skin tone.

3. Visit a dermatologist for help treating acne or skin-tone problems. Acne can plague men and women from the time they enter puberty throughout their adult years. Many people use makeup to cover their unsightly pimples and to make their skin tone appear to be an even shade. Instead, you can visit the dermatologist, get examined, and use a prescribed treatment that will help clear up the problem.

4. Use moisturizer two times a day. It is essential to keep your skin hydrated in order to keep the skin soft. Use a moisturizer once in the morning when you get up and once at night before bed. For dry skin, use a specialized moisturizer geared toward helping repair dry, damaged skin. If you have oily skin, use a moisturizer that is a bit lighter, or it may clog your pores.

5. Use sunscreen when you leave home. The sun can cause major damage to your skin. Sunburn can cause a variety of skin problems and lead to skin cancer. If you have scars from acne it can make the scars appear darker than the rest of your skin, highlighting your imperfections. According to the Mayo Clinic, dermatologists recommend using SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin.

6. Get plenty of sleep. A solid eight hours of sleep each night is essential to good health in general, but especially your skin's health. According to the Mayo Clinic, poor sleep can result in swollen, puffy bags and dark circles under the eyes.
