Set Digital Signage Ad Prices

Determine effective advertising rates for signs.

Advertising is a game of numbers and visibility. The more eyes that view your product, the more money you can charge. Digital signage, albeit intrusive to some, can be a great way to reach a targeted audience. Digital signs are everywhere: hotels, billboards, sports venues and other like places. Setting advertising rates for the digital signage business takes careful planning and plenty of statistical and logistical information.

Instructions

1. Determine the location of where you want to place your sign. If you choose a city street or highway, knowing car traffic of the area where you want to place the signage is important. You can get a local traffic report from any city agency for a specific location. Locate the nearest intersections or cross streets where your sign is to be located. The report will tell you an approximate average of how many cars pass by that location daily. Using your preferred method of rate determination, set the prices based on the amount of traffic to see your sign.

2. Another way to choose a place for your sign is to research a potential location with high foot traffic. You can set the rates based on the amount of people who walk by that particular location. You can further support your numbers by creating a research paper with information formed by your studies. It is not uncommon for companies to pay someone to sit and count persons walking past a location for seven days. They use the information to create an average traffic report and base their advertising rates upon that information.

3. Work with an advertising agency. Advertising agencies understand how advertising rates are determined. Using an agency can help you best utilize any and all resources available to you. You will pay a small commission for the privilege, but the rewards are usually larger in the end. An agency can choose the location, set the prices and assist in client retention.
