Find Charity Organizations That Use Ebay To Auction Their Donations

There are several ways of locating charities that auction their donations on eBay.

Charities that use eBay to auction their donations are able to reach their financial goals in a bigger way because of the millions of customers who buy auction items from this website. As with any charity, you want to research the organizations you plan to give donations to. Get information on what the donations are used for and how much money is spent each year toward these causes.

Instructions

1. Visit the charities' websites. Click on links such as "About Us," "Mission Statement," "How Donations are Used" or "Donate Items" and look for any paragraphs which state clearly that their donations are auctioned on eBay. Write down the names and mailing addresses of these charities then call them to get information on how they use the proceeds from the eBay auctions.

2. Contact local non-profit organization directors. Ask them if they auction contributors' donations on eBay, and if so, what types of donations do they accept for the auctions.

3. Visit Idealist.org, which is a website that lists volunteer opportunities for non-profit organizations. On the webpage, click on different organizations and write down the names and website addresses of them. Then visit each organization's website and click on links such as "About Us" or "Send Donations."

4. Visit eBay's Giving Works's website (see Resources). In the search box, type in the name of the charity you want to send donations to and see if any of their items are featured for sale on the website. Also look for a pattern of a certain type of items that this charity sells on Giving Works.
