Free clinics provide uninsured patients with medical care.
A free clinic is a place where people who don't have health insurance can go to get medical care. Several clinics are available in the state of Maryland, but Salisbury only has one free STD clinic. Clinics often have a policy of not turning anyone away, so uninsured patients can get medical care in one of the surrounding communities.
Wicomico County Health Department
The Wicomico County Health Department offers free STD testing Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic offers free, anonymous and confidential HIV testing. Other STD tests are also available.

Planned Parenthood
The Planned Parenthood in Salisbury is not a free clinic, but the organization will help uninsured people figure out if they qualify for a state program. Patients can also negotiate lower fees for Planned Parenthood services. The clinic requires uninsured people to bring in photo ID and two pay stubs to determine if they qualify for reduced fees. Planned Parenthood provides pregnancy testing and emergency contraception at the walk-in clinic. Birth control refills, HIV testing and STD treatment are also available by appointment.
