Navy "C" schools are institutions for specialty training.
Navy Corpsmen are the enlisted medical professionals of the U.S. Navy. These men and women first attend an "A" school that provides a holistic introduction and orientation to the medical profession in general after completing boot camp. Once corpsmen complete the "A" school, they are then assigned to career specific "C" schools. "C" schools provide navy corpsmen with more in-depth training for careers in such as surgical technology, physical therapy, preventive medicine technology, respiratory therapy and nurse anesthesiology programs. After navy corpsmen complete "C" school, they are released into the fleet to support the men and women of the U.S. Navy.
