Hotels With Screening Rooms

Hotels around the world are equipped with screening rooms for hosting the needs of the film industry.

Screening rooms help filmmakers, actors and scriptwriters showcase their work to investors, agents, friends and coworkers as they are working on a particular project. Typically a smaller space than movie theaters, screening rooms are often the venues for private events. While filming, some production crews and filmmakers slip away from set to review material on the big screen, and select hotels around the world offer their guests this luxury.

The Soho Hotel

With two screening rooms, The Soho Hotel in London's entertainment neighborhood is surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants, including Soho Square, the British Museum and the National Gallery. The hotel's larger screening room is fitted with Xpand Active 3D technology, and both rooms contain leather seating provided by Poltona Frau. Stay in one of the 91 Wi-Fi-equipped rooms or one of the four two-bedroom apartments. Enjoy afternoon tea in the Drawing Room and Library and choose from a wide selections of teas, including champagne tea, strawberry fruit tea and jasmine loose-leaf tea. With 24-hour room service, a fully equipped gym and two beauty salons, the Soho Hotel is well-suited for both business and luxury needs.

The Hazelton Hotel

Inspired by 1940s Hollywood glamor, the Hazelton Hotel in Toronto features a 25 person screening room. The theater, designed by Christopher Hansen of Beverly Hills' Simply Home Entertainment, features a high-definition DVD, surround sound and 35mm projection. Average guest rooms contain more than 620 square feet and feature TVs built into mirrors, heated bathroom floors and French doors that open onto private balconies. The Hazelton Hotel boasts a prime location near some of the world's finest shops, including Chanel, Prada and Gucci.

Tribeca Grand Hotel

Set in the heart of New York, the Grand Screen in the Tribeca Grand Hotel is the only New York City screening room with in-theater menus and bar. Organized into movie themes, the menu lists dishes such as "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," which includes humus and melanzanosalata, and "Sopranos," with margarita pizza, cozze oreganta and melazane parmigiano. The approximately 100 movie-goers will enjoy corded chenille seats and a 5.1 channel surround sound system. In the more than 200 rooms, guests will enjoy flat-screen televisions and bath amenities from Malin+Goetz. Enjoy the company of one of the hotel's pet goldfish during your stay. Other hotel programs include the DVD Loaner Program that allows guests to check out DVDs and the I-Pod program that offers guests a pre-loaded I-pod with playlists hand-selected by the Tribeca Grand Hotel's Creative Director.
