Founded in 1899, San Francisco State University (SFSU) was initially an all-female school. In 1904 the first man was admitted, and since then it has undergone five name changes. SFSU, located in San Francisco just 1.5 miles from Daly City, offers both bachelor's and master's degrees in a total of 300 areas of specializations. Academic colleges include behavioral and social sciences, business, creative arts, education, ethnic studies, health and human services, humanities, and science and engineering. American Business College International
The American Business College International (ABCi) offers students programs to teach skills needed in high demand service jobs such as careers with computers, business offices, medical offices, and heating and air conditioning. ABCi teaches courses, which vary in length from 18 weeks to 42 weeks, through four learning styles--kinesthetic, verbal, visual and auditory--to improve the learning process. Financial assistance is available through student loans, internship programs, grants and training vouchers for those who qualify.

Bay Area College of Nursing
Established in 2004 and formerly known as Palo Alto Center for Healthcare Education, Inc., Bay Area College of Nursing is accredited by the Calfornia Bureau of Vocational Nursing, the California Department of Consumer Affairs, the California Department of Public Health and the Bureau for Private Post Secondary Education. Nursing programs offered at this college include vocational nursing, nursing assistant, home health aide, acute care certified nursing assistant, anatomy and physiology and CPR life support. Academic schedules vary per program, however the longest program is the vocational nursing at 1664 hours.

DeVry University Keller Graduate School of Management
Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management offers students flexible learning both on-site at its Daly City campus and also online. This graduate school offers areas of study including business administration, accounting and finance, human resources, project management, public administration and technology management. Keller's academic calendar includes three semesters; spring, summer and fall, with two start times per semester which allows for greater scheduling flexibility.
