Use Dandelion To Treat Acne

Use Dandelion to Treat Acne

Acne is an embarrassing and uncomfortable skin condition that is characterized by pimples and sometimes pustules on the face, chest and/or back. The surface cause of acne is clogged hair follicles and pores. However, there are also systemic causes of acne that can be treated by detoxifying your body. You can use dandelion to detoxify your body naturally and stimulate the necessary bodily functions to treat and prevent acne.

Instructions

1. Start a dandelion therapy regimen lasting 4 to 6 weeks to improve the function of the lymphatic system, digestive system, liver and kidneys. Dandelion is available in a variety of preparations.

2. Drink dandelion tea regularly to help return normal liver function. The liver is responsible for processing the toxins our bodies absorb daily. When the organ is not working properly, those toxins are excreted through the skin rather than through the digestive system. This causes acne and other skin problems.

3. Use 1 to 2 tsp. of dandelion tincture to treat constipation. A natural laxative, the benefits of dandelion are concentrated in the alcohol-based tincture for immediate effectiveness. When you are constipated, your liver is forced to work harder, which means it cannot work properly.

4. Use dandelion capsules to balance hormones, particularly during the teenage years when both hormonal shifts and acne are common. The liver is supposed to neutralize excess hormones. When it is not working properly, those hormones are stored in other places, such as skin cells. Hormones stored in skin cell can promote sebum overproduction, which causes acne in hair follicles.

5. Change your diet to prevent poor liver function and future acne. Fatty foods can overburden the liver, making it incapable of fully detoxifying the body and neutralizing your hormones. Limit fat intake to make it easier for your liver to do its job.
