Christian Universities That Have Medical Sonography

You can study medical sonography at a Christian university.

Medical sonography, also referred to as ultrasound or diagnostic medical sonography, refers to the medical application of high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of the human body for the purposes of diagnosis and treatment. According to the Commission on the Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), three Christian-affiliated universities in the United States offer training in diagnostic medical sonography.

Misericordia University

Located in northeast Pennsylvania, Misericordia University is a Catholic educational institution founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1875. It offers two programs in medical sonography: a Bachelor of Science degree completion program for practicing sonographers and an 18-month certificate in diagnostic medical sonography. The bachelor’s degree program consists of general education coursework in the liberal arts and sciences followed by advanced specialized instruction in breast sonography, fetal and pediatric sonography and current trends and practices in the profession. Combining both didactic and practical instruction, the certificate program consists of courses in ultrasound physics and instrumentation, sectional anatomy, abdominal and pelvic sonography, obstetrical sonography, fetal and neonatal anomalies, vascular ultrasound and laboratory applications.
