Find Ce Credits For The Georgia Insurance License

Visit the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner website.

Insurance brokers in the state of Georgia must take continuing education credits in order to maintain their insurance licenses. The number of credits required varies depending on the type of license and the number of years you have held a Georgia license. Before seeking continuing education credits it is best to find out how many credits are actually required for a license and which education providers are approved to teach the courses.

Instructions

1. Visit the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner website, which contains the insurance licensing continuing education requirements for Georgia insurance brokers. As of May 2010, agents with less than 20 years of service need 15 hours of continuing education while agents with more than 20 years of service need 10.

2. Access the website Sircon.com to find a listing of approved educators and continuing education courses in the state of Georgia. Once you're on the Sircon website, there is an option to choose the state for which you would like to see a listing of continuing education information. Select "Georgia" to view the information center page for Georgia.

3. Scroll down the page and click on the "Look up education courses/credits" link. This link brings you to the page where you can search for continuing education courses. Click on the "Approved courses inquiry" link. You'll have to select your state one more time and click "Submit."

4. Choose your preferred instruction method. Georgia continuing education credits can be completed by self-study, online, in a classroom or taken as a national course.

5. Select your course category. Because the Georgia insurance continuing education requirement varies depending on type of license, it is important to select the appropriate course category and click "Submit" to see a listing of courses, number of course credits and education provider.

6. Click on the educator provider link to get the address and phone number and currently available courses. You now have all of the information necessary to sign up for the course to begin taking your continuing education credits.
