Information On Palm Tree Crafts

Whether you're hosting a luau party or you're teaching kids about the tropics, making palm tree crafts is a fun activity. The finished products can be used as decorations to create a festive environment or as parting gift favors for a party. Does this Spark an idea?

Craft Stick

Paint a craft stick light brown --- this will be the trunk of the tree. Cut several long, thin ovals from pieces of green construction paper, which will serve as leaves. After the craft stick has dried, tape the construction paper leaves to the top of it and fan them out.

Paper Towel Tube

Paint an empty paper towel tube brown. While it is drying, cut lengths of green crepe paper. Glue the crepe paper to the top of the tube as leaves. Create coconuts by rolling pieces of brown construction or crepe paper into balls and glue them under the leaves.

Clay

Make a palm tree on a deserted island. Paint a paper plate blue --- this will become the water surrounding the deserted island. For the island, form green or brown clay into a ball, flatten it and then glue it to the center of the plate. Roll brown clay into a thick snake and stick it to the center of the island. Roll green clay into smaller snakes, flatten them like palm tree fronds and stick them to the top of the trunk of the palm tree.
