X-ray technicians take X-rays of various body parts.
X-ray technicians use X-ray machines to take images of internal parts of the human body to help in the diagnosing of certain medical problems, such as broken or fractured bones. They prepare patients for radiography and take steps to prevent patients from being exposed to excessive radiation. Those who want to work in the health care field may want to consider training as an X-ray technician, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts fast job growth in this area, with an increase of about 17 percent in new jobs between 2008 and 2018.
